The Story Behind Bottega di Console – Antonina & Bogdan

Behind every piece at Bottega di Console there is a story—not only of craftsmanship, but of people, time, and shared passion. We are Antonina and Bogdan, a married couple for over 16 years, and parents of two wonderful sons. While on a daily basis we work in completely different professional fields, it is wood and design that have brought us together in a meaningful and lasting way.

We have always been drawn to classical Italian design—its balance, proportion, and quiet sophistication. This shared appreciation became the foundation of our work. Today, our collections are inspired by Italian motifs, reinterpreted through handcrafted forms and natural materials. (Simply put: we design furniture that feels elegant, timeless, and rooted in tradition).

Our journey into the world of handmade consoles began in a very personal way. It started with a table we created for our own home. What was meant to be a simple, functional piece quickly attracted attention. Friends and visitors began asking about it, and we realized there was a demand for furniture that combines craftsmanship with refined aesthetics.

We decided to develop this idea further. We began learning about wood, finishes, and traditional techniques. Over time, curiosity turned into passion. Working with wood taught us patience. (Wood and truly refined furniture do not tolerate haste). Each stage requires time, precision, and respect for the material.

As we continued, we started creating furniture on request. Each project became more than just work—it became a source of pride. There is something deeply satisfying in creating objects that are tangible, useful, and lasting. Something you can touch, place in your home, and live with every day.

Over the years, our work has reached clients far beyond our expectations. We have created pieces for well-known personalities (although, due to confidentiality, we cannot share names), and our furniture now appears in boutique luxury hotels across the world—from Spain and Ireland to Japan. We regularly ship our handmade consoles to the United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.

The furthest our furniture has traveled was to Australia. Antonina even considered delivering it personally—but decided she wouldn’t last that long without Bogdan.

Bottega di Console is more than a workshop. It is a shared journey—built on partnership, patience, and a deep respect for craftsmanship, materials, and timeless Italian design.
